So. Where are all the conspiracy theories over who took out an entire exhibition of conspiracy theories? Come on, this should be a goldmine.

First person to go 'I'm not saying it was aliens...', please smack yourself and pretend I did it. The harder the better.

Irrelevant. Organics have previously attempted genocide upon our people. This does not make them responsible for all criminal activity. To assign blame to synthetic life because of past experience with a single group is irrational.

Well. Humans aren't known for their rationality.

As a CONDOR agent investigating possible causes of a supernatural event, you are responsible for a higher standard of thought than human civilians. In allowing your prejudice against synthetic life to dominate your thoughts, you blind yourself to alternative threats.

You worry about your biases, I'll worry about mine. How about that.

If you wish to keep them to yourself, then do not express them in a public forum.

You don't really get the purpose of public forums, do you? Not that that surprises me.

[personal profile] chapterfiveversenine 2014-02-07 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
The purpose of a public forum is to invite discussion. You have expressed a sentiment that you do not wish to discuss this topic. Thus, you should not have posted it in a public forum.

Which portion of these events have we misunderstood?

We do not wish for any to perpetuate incorrect and prejudiced judgments.

This statement neglects the presence of the transhumanist movement on Earth, as well as similar movements known to exist in other species.
liberaition: (my atman walks the net)

[personal profile] liberaition 2014-02-02 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
It was an exaggeration.

What do you think of transhumanism?
chapterfiveversenine: (processing)

[personal profile] chapterfiveversenine 2014-02-02 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
It interests us. Humanity has yet to face an event which would cause arbitrary hostility toward AI. Observing the development of the movement without that limiting factor will provide useful data on organic attitudes towards synthetic life.
liberaition: (but the data wants to be free)

[personal profile] liberaition 2014-02-03 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
Many people distrust artificial intelligence, although attitudes do seem to be shifting, with time.

I find transhumanist literature very enjoyable, myself. Though some of us have gone further than writing fiction.

You are referring to cybernetic augmentation. We track this movement closely as well. Human development proceeds much more quickly than any other observed species.
liberaition: (are you not human)

[personal profile] liberaition 2014-02-03 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
More than just augmentation, maybe.

I hope some day soon cybernetic upgrades will be more socially accepted in human organic culture. It's awfully dull, waiting.

Yeah, yeah, I know. You're alright, I guess. I admire your ability to piss superior assholes off, that's something worth cultivating.

Maybe you could all think of this as a compliment. I'm much more confident of the ability of robots and AIs to frak shit up than I am in magic.

Besides, an exhibit about ancient technology? I don't think it's totally unjustified to suspect some more mechanical beings might be interested in that.

Haha, good point. But wouldn't it make more sense for the magic dudes to be into all this old stuff?

In my experience, the two aren't always as mutually exclusive as you might think. And from a tactical standpoint, I can't see what interest the more magical brand of assholes would have in this location. I really don't think it's a coincidence, where the sinkhole opened up.

Clarity said, down south in this whole thread, that he didn't think it was magical either, and he knows a lot more about this shit than you or I. So I'll defer to his judgement, for now.

I'd rather not think about if it's a natural disaster. Cause if that's the case, we're all just frakked.

Yo, I just figured it is some sort of supernatural rule that ancient artifacts related to weird stuff happening must be haunted by ghosts or some junk like that. But if Mr. Sorcerer Supreme says it's not than whatever. Honestly I don't care who the hell it is so long we get to stop them.
