TEXT- #THE WATCH
[The following text message comes from a really recent account. Looks like whoever posted this really couldn't resist making their AMAZING PRESENCE known.]
Good day, fellow heroes!
It is with great pleasure that I, the Mysticalman, shall now be watching over this beautiful city of Los Angeles along with the rest of you! Though we may all come from different backgrounds, it warms my heart to the core to see so many upstanding superheroes bravely unite against the wretched forces of EVIL!!! I must say, I am looking forward to meeting all of you in person!
I also happen to have a request- should any of you come across a magical creature, I would be delighted if you could let me know right away! Even the slightest hint, the barest shadow of a clue would be immense help. While I am more than skilled at finding them on my own, I must admit this place is still quite new to me and I would certainly appreciate your assistance! Thank you!

there's a gw1 joke in here somewhere
Ahah. All I remember from GW1 is getting mad that you needed 2 people to open that one plot door
(hate that door so much) gw1 necros were infamous for having zillions of minions out at once
(let me play my massively multiplayer games alone dammit) that sounds both hilarious and infuriating
[America is weird]
(exactly!) it was actually really fun as long as you were the necromancer...
[it's okay she's a recent immigrant herself]
of course the real question is: can you make them all do the thriller dance
[just planning his next holidays nbd]
...i don't know but i wanna find out now
if this isn't a thing that exists i'll be horribly disappointed
Re: ...i don't know but i wanna find out now
[eusine stop double-posting just because you're excited, jfc]
she doesn't even know how hard she's dissing humanity and that's sad
it's ok, eusine is the kind to take that comment as a testament to the SHEER RESILIENCE OF MANKIND
Ah, but these other races you mentioned... What are they like?? I assume you're not human yourself!?
she is trying so hard to be nice here, you don't even know
The charr are highly militaristic, perhaps eight or nine feet tall standing upright. Their fangs, horns, and claws are features that they prize, and they alternate between quadrupedal motion and bipedal movement very easily. They're shortsighted in that they reject using magic for anything other than combat, but their engineering skills are advanced enough that I have several books from UCLA that I hope to bring back for acquaintances. (Avis Bronzebow may never forgive me for not bringing her a jet engine.)
Dredge are intensely xenophobic; no one even knows what they call themselves in their own language. They are the last race to remain subterranean despite the danger of destroyers, which drove asura and skritt to the surface. They are either blind or almost so; no one has been able to investigate sufficiently. Their technology is almost equal to that of the charr, with the exception of their sonic machinery. There is no equivalent on Earth that I know of.
Describing the dozens of sapient species (and, in the case of the skritt, demi-sapient) on Tyria would be the topic of an essay at least, and there's a comment limit on these forums. This discussion may be more convenient in person.
the effort is appreciated, nivata. i am so sorry
All of this sounds absolutely fascinating! Mankind's cultures are quite diverse, but we indeed all share the same race (although quite a few magical creatures are capable of reason! But they are few and far between, alas.)
I must say I am also quite interested in learning more about this magical technology of yours! You say it's comparable to Earth technology... Maybe it could be used in conjunction with it!
Ah, but I would be delighted if we could talk about your world face to face!! Perhaps we can arrange a meeting?
a friendship made IN HELL
I know that the Luminates krewe were experimenting with electricity as a power source, if crudely, and there must be someone on this world who's thought of using magic to power some sort of device. It certainly bears investigation.
The servers at Bibigo on Westwood aren't especially obnoxious. Would that be suitable?
truly incredible. play it cool eusine you gon meet an ALIEN
It's an interesting point of view, though!
I would certainly be surprised if no one tried using magic as fuel before! Mankind is quite fond of experimenting with alternative sources of energy, after all.
Bibigo seems perfectly suitable to me! When shall we meet?
totally did not lose this in my email nope nope nope
How is 8:30 pm on Monday? That evening's lab tends to run late.
ahah it's ok, i know the feeling
See you then?
