I want samples from the Fowler Museum sinkhole, and you need better minds than yours to work on the problem. That's me. I need someone to tell the humans stationed around the perimeter to let me by; they're not as corrupt as Rata Sum Peacekeepers and they didn't take bribes. Who do I talk to so that I can get that done?

Speaking of perimeters, if you have to put one around a pit that is one hundred meters deep to stop yourselves and your progeny from throwing themselves over the edge, then there is no hope for you as a species.

Why would you need to dig up any graves? Giving your body to necromancy schools is very common, especially for humans. It's a religious thing for them. That's why my bone minions have human skulls even though I trained in Rata Sum. (Anyone who knows what they're doing insists on charr legs and feet for bone golems, though. I've heard of some necromancers using grawl, but I don't think the muscle mass is adequate to support the upper body.)

Humans are the only native sapient species on this planet. There's no reason for you to know what charr or grawl are.

How does that work, on your world? Like, is one species more dominant than other species? Are there tons of wars all the time?

Some species are more developed than others; we asura are naturally the most advanced. Historically, most conflicts have been along species lines, but there are splinter groups who don't agree with the new overall policies of tolerance.

humans can't even get it together enough to stop killing each other, it would probably just be way worse if we had a bunch of other species around.

Humans are hardly the most aggressive of Tyria's races. Prone to the worst overreactions, maybe.

Of course. No one has studied magic as extensively as we have, and no race has anything near our intellect. The charr insist on doing everything by non-magical means, and humans occupy themselves with their gods to the detriment of overall advancement. Sylvari are too new to have accomplished much, and norn are... not interested in intellectual pursuits. Dredge are xenophobic and limited by their government. Hylek, quaggan, krait, centaurs, jotun, and so forth are primitive at best. Skritt... are skritt.

I doubt Tyrian humans came from this world; I imagine their gods were involved somehow.

The ecology of Tyria is perfectly normal. Earth lacks several species that I'm familiar with. Insect life on Earth is hilariously undersized, and I suspect Tyrian insects and crustaceans supplement their carapaces with magic. On the other hand, horses are extremely rare on Tyria. Not extinct, but close.
