Guess who's back! That's right, your favorite crime-fighting robot. The junk with that AI is in the past and I'm better than ever and ready to put criminal punks in their place. Don't be looking for me with the Trailblazers though, Metabee's gonna be taking on the streets solo from now on. [There's a pause.] Other than CONDOR stuff, obviously, but that's different.

Please tell me I didn't miss anything too awesome while I was gone. I was off the grid for the past month or so, someone fill me in on what's happening around here.

Dude, I'd say you missed some stuff. L.A. turned into a musical for a while there, it was hella weird.

Woah, really? Did some super villain turn the entire city into a theatre or something? Or some sort of reality warp thing?

Well apparently Swansong was doing it, only it wasn't really her, it was those crystals. But yeah, everyone would pretty much just start singing randomly, there was music coming out of nowhere, stuff like that.

The crystals from the sinkhole? I thought those just turned into animals?

Wait, wasn't Swansong with Dr. Dynamo's group? Does this have to do with that AI thing?!?

Those ones did. These ones looked the same, but if they really were the same deal then apparently they can mind control people and fly through the air now. It really sucked.

And I dunno if they're connected; I mean yeah, she was with those guys, but we didn't really see any evidence that this had to do with all that. The Times is sure tryin' to spin it that way, though; they're claiming that she's pissed over what happened to her team so now she's gone evil or some crap like that.

Yeah, well, that's a pretty ressonable assumption if you ask me. If her entire team was evil, why not Swansong.

Okay, unless there's some kinda new intel that I'm missing out on, Nightforce wasn't evil. They just got caught up in the cyborg crap - which, let's not forget, you did too.

[Maaaybe aiming below the belt a little there, but a connection's been drawn between Swansong's innocence and Miko's integrity as a reporter. She's not gonna concern herself with being gentle (as if she ever does).]

[There's a scrambling noise that is Metabee angrily jumping out of his chair.]

WHAT?!? I- THAT'S- That was completely different!! It's not like I was the one who started kidnapping people and released a hoard of mutant cyberdogs on the city!

Neither were they! It was the AI, the same one that probably killed them! Besides, I know what I saw, and Swansong was definitely trapped in those crystals - I'm not sure she was even conscious!

Wait, you saw Swansong covered in this crystal stuff? Like, you were there?

Yeah! Crap, did I not mention that? 'Cuz, yeah, I was one of the people who found her to begin with.

Uh, no. No you didn't.

Well someone had better get to the bottom of all this crystal stuff soon. It's been months and no one's figured anything out yet.

Whoops. Oh well, now you know!

And, yeah, no kidding. It doesn't make any sense - like, what are these things even trying to do? 'Cuz so far all they've really done is screw stuff up, but why?

Didn't they find crystals like those in the sinkhole the Alpha Force went to investigate, too?

Yeah, I think so! It's super weird, they're just kinda popping up everywhere.

Yeah, well, if they show up again, I'll be ready this time. [There's a clang that is probably Metabee punching his fist into his hand, menacingly]

[Miko laughs, only slightly rudely.] Yeah, you go get 'em, dude! Maybe save the hand-punching for when someone can actually see you, though.
